TikTok is an iOS and Android social media video app for creating and sharing short lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos. The app was launched in 2017 by ByteDance, for markets outside of China. ByteDance has previously launched Douyin for the China market in September 2016. In 2018, the application gained popularity and became the most downloaded app in the U.S. in October 2018. Zhang Yiming founded ByteDance company in 2012.Zhang was born in April 1983 In 2011, Zhang noticed the user migration from computers to smartphone . He hired a professional manager to take over as CEO of 99 fang, and quit the company to start ByteDance in 2012.
